Poltergeist Hi Fi

Poltergeist-Hi-Fi is an experimental work for speakers and objects.

Five loudspeakers lying on their backs in a room set objects in motion that lie in the loudspeaker membranes. A software programmed in Max_MSP sends short or longer pulses to the loudspeakers. The impulses, which act on the material lying in the membranes, are based on a 16-step grid (in the manner of a simple 16 step sequencer). The loudspeakers are thus always in the same time grid, but can act autonomously in the time signature. The viewer can randomly remix the impulses by pressing a colored random key on a fancy mobile interface, adjust the tempo or simply do nothing while the rhythms change.
